MARIAALTUKHOVA
“Travelling, attending exhibitions, meeting the greatest designers of these days…I let emotions through myself, but you can’t keep such things inside. It’s fraught with an explosion… Though, I suppose, consequently, there is an explosion. It is expressed in terms of my works.”
Maria Altukhova was born in 1988 in Moscow.
In 2005, after finishing the preparation courses entered the National design institute in Moscow, faculty of environment design.
During the studies Maria tried herself in different areas of design. She worked with art-objects, different interior objects, she created the conceptions of large areas important in the social sphere. She was occupied with graphic design and computer graphics, took a great interest in visualization.
Pending the studies Maria took part in different contests-review, conferences, exhibitions and presentations:
In 2006 Maria developed the volume broadsheet, which was used in the stand design of the National design institute on the Exhibition contest of broadsheets, devoted to the 15-th anniversary of the Union of Russian designers (CHA, Moscow).
In spring 2008 on the exhibition “My courtyard, my home entrance” two projects – concept of a playground “Choose and play” and draft design for the improvement of Torzhok city, Palace square, were awarded with Diplomas of laureate of 9-th open contest-review for the best project of the improvement of the city territories of different destinations in the nomination “The best proposal for the complex improvement and city design, made by students” ( Committee on architecture and municipal engineering in Moscow)
In May 2009 for the first time the designer takes part in the contest “Kreata” on the 17-th International Furniture Exhibition “Euroexpofurniture/EEM” with the draft design for the improvement of Torzhok city, Palace square.
In autumn 2009 the designer developed the conceptual design of the Zoological Park in Kostroma for the open tender, announced by Kostroma city administration. The work was awarded with a diploma for the original conceptual presentation of animals.
In spring 2010 the conceptual project of restaurant “ArtObject” Interiors took the first place in the contest of young designers “Kreata” in the nomination “Environment design”. And the concept of the kitchen “Aquamarin”, which was developed specially for a certain nomination - “The kitchen of a new generation Rehau”, took the second place and was published on the Rehau catalog covers. ( On the 18-th International Furniture Exhibition “Euroexpofurniture/EEM”)
In spring 2010 on the exhibition “My courtyard, my home entrance” the conceptual “Project of the Zoo improvement in Kostroma city and interiors of the educational-entertaining center on its territory” was awarded with a diploma of a participant of the 10-th open contest-review for the best project of the improvement of the city territories of different destination in the nomination “The best proposal for complex improvement, city design and small architectural forms, made by students of the core institutes”. (Committee on architecture and municipal engineering in Moscow)
In may 2010 – The conceptual project “Kitchens of a new generation” for the Rehau company was presented on XII International design festival in Caucasian Mineralnye Vody “FERODIZ’10” and was awarded with a Diploma of laureate in the nomination “Environment design” for the high professional level of the presented works and active participating in the work and events of the XII design festival “FERODIZ’10”
In March 2011 Maria graduated with honours the faculty of the environment design of the National design institute.
The designer’s degree work (“The conceptual decision of Shukhov modern art center on the territory of Arma factory”) was awarded in various nominations:
Spring 2011 – Diploma of the 1-st degree on the Art festival UrFO 2011 Ural Art Week in the nomination “Environment design”
May 2011 – The 1-s place on the X international contest of young designers “Kreata” in the nomination “Environment design”
2011 – Diploma in the nomination “Interior exposition design” of the International Olympiad of Design in Caucasian Mineralnye Vody “FERODIZ’11”
December 2011 – Grand Prize in the International architectural and design contest “RODCHENKO’2011”
February 2012 – The 1-st place on the International Festival-contest “Eurazian Prize 2011” in the nomination “Design of public interior” (student competition)
In November 2011 Maria participated in the presentation of the Young Designers Contest “Kreata” in the 15-th international exhibition “Wooden house building/Holzhaus” in Crocus Expo.
Today Maria works with interiors, tries herself in the object design, continues to take part in contests, she is occupied with visualization and teaches computer graphics in the University.
The designer’s works were already published: on “Rehau” catalog covers, in “MebelProfessional” and “4room: forum of the professionals” journals.
In April 2012 on the contest “Kreata” in 20-th International Furniture Exhibition “Eurofurniture 2012” Maria presented the concept CREVICE LAMP.
In July Maria Altukhova has been awarded at the DESIGN AND DESIGN INTERNATIONAL AWARD in Paris for concept CREVICE LAMP.
October 2012 - Maria presented the prototype of CREVICE LAMP at SaloneSatellite World Wide Moscow 2012.
